Lonely Street was reviewed in L Magazine! Here's what they said:
"Allow us to state the obvious: There are moments when Your 33 Black Angels sound an awful lot like the Velvet Underground. There, now that's out of the way, and we can focus on the quirky subtleties of their 2007 debut, Lonely Street: staccato guitar licks, the candid grittiness of Josh Westfal's vocals, and a song about a girl named Sue. This year we'll see their follow-up, and it should - if record label people are smart as we are - spur a bidding war among the indies."

We took the liberty to make some corrections, like the spelling of Josh's name.

Here's some more press Lonely Street has received since its release in March 2007, courtesy of the fine rock and roll writers of the world...

Rolling Stone
"...one of the year's treasures..."

HARP Magazine
"Lonely Street was the only 2007 release for which HARP personally called up the band and pleaded for a review copy - such was the street buzz on it.
Guess what? That buzz was dead-on."

L Magazine
"This year we'll see their follow-up, and it should - if record label people are smart as we are — spur a bidding war among the indies."

Hartford Courant
"- such rock 'n' roll!", Eric Danton, Music Editor

New York Times
"...sweetly addictive rock."

My Old Kentucky Blog
"I doubt it will be long before they're signed to a solid indie label."

Bibabidi Blog
"I like them very much."

Parasites and Sychophants
"Overall, just a lot of good music about bad habits -"

HearYa
"Most of the bands I listen to are good, but Y33BA is great."
"Top 50 albums of 2007"

Salad Days - Band of the Day
"Band to Watch - November, 2007"

QCLA
"I just want to tickle the whole band."

USA TODAY
"...my laptop won't let me play them as loud as I want."

New York Magazine
"...high-spirited..."

Confessions of a Music Addict
"...sure to make you feel naughty..."

Aquarium Drunkard
"...self-released, shows potential, and recommended..."

Pink Rock Candy
"...they are really great!"

Volume Knob
"Holy crap, they are good."

enough, night is upon us... In early May, we had the honor of opening for the Heavy Creatures at their record release party at Union Pool in Brooklyn. It was rad!
